Johnny, thank you for your comments. My DBS was an awesome success! I know that not all DBS surgeries go as well as mine has, but I want to encourage others to take a chance and do it if they're able to. I feel very blessed already, but thank you for your caring comments.

Thanks, Donna, for touching us all by your inspiring video. I really appreciated that you included your entire family in this video as they are often overlooked. Kudos to you for spreading the word.

Kate, one of the things I liked so much about PAR (Parkinson's Association of the Rockies) when I first moved back to Denver was their focus on caretakers and their needs as well as those of us with PD. I agree that the role families play is often overlooked when health issues arise. Thanks for your support of all of us!

Rose
Mrs. Brown certainly does have a lovely daughter! And an inspiring and generous one, too. It's difficult enough to manage a chronic illness (and a family and a home) but then to also go and spread knowledge, information and awareness through this wonderful film shows a huge heart and people who truly care enough to see beyond themselves with loving kindness. Kudos to Dan, your family and all those involved. The "confessional" segments were beautifully lit, the music was fitting, the story inspirational. Best of luck in the competition, best of luck in spreading the word, and most importantly, best wishes and prayers in managing the PD that doesn't have you.

Donna you're lovely and Dan great job! I have no idea why it wouldn't be a winner. Well shot and great edit. There isn't a dead spot in it. I think we all got into show business to do these pieces and looking back there sure aren't many opportunities to do them and when there was, there was always someone in the process to take the air right out of it. I'll take one of these for all of the goofy stuff we did and justified as some sort of "public service". Dan... you have total control now and are using it for all of the right reasons. I hope the awards ceremony is in Hawaii , I think that you are going.

Ronnie, bless you for the "lovely" bit and total agreement on Dan's participation in this video. I'm so glad you feel like a video like this is what it's all about because I feel the same way. I'm grateful for the second chanceI've been given, thanks to medical science, and want to encourage others to take a chance too to improve the quality of their lives if possible.

Hi Donna,

I'm one of Dan's mother's friends. She forwarded your video to me and I am touched by your story and how lovely you are. You have a wonderfully supportive family and from all the comments, lots of friends. You're a good role model for us all.

Jennifer, again bless YOU for the lovely bit! I do have an incredibly great family and caring, supportive friends. I agree with my friend and video musician, Maree, that there's something special, something valuable you learn from dealing with a life-altering disease. You'd never choose to be educated by finding out that you or a loved one has an illness, but there are many positives in the end. I'm lucky one of my positives was a great response to DBS surgery. Thank you for watching and writing.

I don't know if I'll ever watch my guys on this video without tearing up over their comments and Maree's beautiful songs. Of course I never gave up! There's lots of Aunt Annie and Uncle Wayne inside of me! Please share the video with that doctor son of yours, okay, and tell him thank you from a grateful recipient of the best the medical community has to offer. Love you back, Linda.

Donna- What an incredible video! Your story is just an amazing, courageous, and inspirational journey. Darrell, Brad and Spencer were remarkable in telling your story. Also, special acknowlegments to Betty for that wonderful intro. 'Mr.' Brown would also be touched by his daughter's story. Better pack your bags now.

Paul, such a wonderful response from a wonderful man! Is Louise packing her bags already as I heard she expects to take a trip to Hawaii with "Thelma"?! Mr. Brown's daughter was very touched by that last photo. I had asked Dan to put in the dedication to my parents, but that great photo was a suprise. Love you, Paul.

Bunny Gordon
WOW!!! Thanks, Donna. Grant has been approved for the surgery, and while I'M scared, he says: "I have to do what I can, because taking 27 to 30 pills a day isn't working, and there's no where else to go." You are an inspiration and have helped me to better understand his choice.
Thanks, Bunny

Bunny, I know just where Grant is. I know it's scary for you to face the love of your life having brain surgery, but the chance to have the life he used to have with you back once again is undoubtedly foremost in Grant's mind. The surgery is scary, but the outcome can be so absolutely amazing. Besides, there IS no where else to go but up now. You know my thoughts and prayers will be with you both as he undergoes the surgery as well as now. Love to you - Donna

Very nice. Whoever made that video has talent. I think he got his creativity from me while working on the Saintenal. Got job Donna. This is very inspirational and that is the biggest word I know. Seems like you had more improvement than you thought was possible. Your family looks great. I wish you all well.

Tim, yes, although I was jokingly referred to as "The Talent" by our cameraman, the true talent behind this video did an excellent job. Coordinating it between filming in Colorado and production in California, I may never know exactly what everyone did, but the end result is special beyond my imagining. The family and I wish you all the best too. Thanks for "surfacing" after so many years!
